Where to Start?

First, you need to select a FREE blog service. I recommend using WordPress.com because it is very user friendly and provides excellent step-by-step documentation and support to get you up and running.

I literally followed their step-by-step instructions and built my site in a few hours. I spent 3 years trying to build an old fashion website, which resulted in 3 years of writer’s block. The ease,  flow, and features of WordPress instantly inspired me to write my first post and I have never looked back. 

Although WordPress.com can host your blog for FREE, I would recommend spending money to purchase your own, unique, domain name. For a few dollars a month, you can have your own domain and web host. I recommend purchasing your domain name at register.com. One of their best features is their online live chat customer support.

I would also recommend using Blue Host for your web hosting services (they host my blog). Blue Host meets the WordPress minimum requirements and WordPress considers Blue Host to be one of the best and brightest web hosting services available to bloggers. I figured WordPress knows a little bit more about blogging than I did, so I went with their recommendation. Blue Host is very user friendly and provides you with $50 of FREE Google AdWords Credit and $50 of FREE Yahoo! Search Marketing Credit.

Once you register with a blog service, register your domain name, and link your domain name to a web hosting service, you are ready to write your first post about your life’s passion.
