Here is a follow up video to my guest post on Authentic Mama.

I give you permission to take care of youself!

What do you need to do today to take care of youself?

Note: I’m loving the video but personally don’t think balance means stillness.

  • I was just over to read your guest post – Awesome Stacey! I love your words and language – they really inspire to make “me” care and “me” time a priority.
    That was a great post!

  • Today I need to get out of the house and find a little more time for me. I really want to do my 6 mile walk in the country 🙂 if it doesn’t rain and hubby doesn’t get called in to work. I am taking a day off of cleaning 🙂

  • I just came back from 9 days away. I’m tired. What I need to do to take care of myself is to take my time with the laundry, unpacking, mail, email etc. I don’t need to be in a rush. One task at a time.

  • Maya – Me time is so important. Enjoy! Enjoy! Enjoy!

Annette – Did you get your walk in? If not, how do you modify your me time to fit your schedule?

Tess – Take your time to re-enter your world. Enjoy having one task unfold at a time.

  • Caring for the self is being willing to open the senses and recognize reasons for your thoughts and behaviour. If you look after someone who is ill, to be human is to get frustrated and impatient from time-to-time. As you learn what messages your feelings convey, you realize its also important to take time for yourself. The more insight you gain, the more your own sense of self expands, the more you are equipped to give love, loyalty and commitment to what matters.

  • Hi Stacey. We have to remind ourselves that we need to take care of ourselves. Thanks! I so often end up running on auto pilot it becomes a real challenge to slow down. I noticed that this morning when I meditated for 10 minutes. It was 5 minutes before my mind calmed down. Interesting that I myself was relaxed physically though.

Today I plan to go for a walk in the sunshine. A casual walk as opposed to a workout walk.

  • “What do you need to do today to take care of yourself?”

I need to ask my husband to take the kids outside for a couple of hours so I have time for myself.

    Done!

    🙂

  • Liara – Putting yourself first is honoring your sense of self. I think that act also add to expanding your sense of self.

Davina – I want to acknowledge your 10 minutes of meditation and celebrate your awareness of the process.

Vered – I hope you were able to enjoy that time for yourself!

  • I certainly agree that women should have more “me” time. It’s really not easy being female nowadays. The demands are definitely high! “Me” time is also not a waste of time.

  • I need to pass some responsibilities to others sometimes. I need to not try to do it all.

  • Evelyn – It is not easy being female these days. We have the opportunity to “do it all” but in reality “doing it all” is exhausting and unrealistic.

Carla – Pass on those responsibilities! You do not need to do it all yourself.

  • I try to make sure I take care of the basics.

if I don’t take care of the basics, I can’t take care of others.
