I recently started a new job and manager at a church 2 months ago. I thought it would be my dream job but I got a bait and switch. They just want a bookkeeper not a business manager. It is clear they have no interest in letting me manage staff, restructure, polices, procedures which is what I was told I was hired for doing my interviews. I work a lot of hours… the job is an hour from home one-way and I get home later and later. I find that I can’t commit to this job or some of the things I’ve seen. I am not sure I have the skills for Accountant because I was hired for a business adminstrator. I find I don’t like having others minimize my efforts or work experience. I have a master’s degree and feel like I am just starting over. Should I , leave this job now or stay for a year so it won’t impact my resume’ as job hopping? I am looking for another job – but the market is tight right now. Any words of adivce?
