In life, at one time or another, we all find ourselves in a life balance slump.
Dr. Seuss says it best in Oh, the Places You’ll Go!.

“You’ll be on your way up! You’ll be seeing great sights!
You’ll join the high fliers, who soar to high heights.

You won’t lag behind, because you’ll have the speed.
You’ll pass the whole gang and you’ll soon take the lead.
Wherever you fly, you’ll be the best of the best.
Wherever you go, you will top all the rest.

Except when you don’t. Because, sometimes, you won’t.
I’m sorry to say so but, sadly, it’s true
and Hang-ups can happen to you.

You can get all hung up in a prickle-ly perch.
And your gang will fly on. You’ll be left in a Lurch.

You’ll come down from the Lurch with an unpleasant bump.
And the chances are, then, that you’ll be in a Slump.

And when you’re in a Slump, you’re not in for much fun.
Un-slumping yourself is not easily done.”  ~ Dr. Seuss

This post contains life balance quotes to help you on your journey when you are trying to un-slump.

Hi Stacey! “Oh, The Place’s You’ll Go” is a favorite Dr. Seuss book of mine! So much wisdom in a book that’s good for kids and adults alike. And some great quotes for un-slumping ourselves!

Here’s my addition: “Be aware of wonder. Live a balanced life - learn some and think some and draw and paint and sing and dance and play and work every day some.” ~ Robert Fulghum - the author of “All I Really Need to Know, I Learned In Kindergarten”, among others.

Vered – It’s gray and gloomy outside here too. I needed some sort of pick me up.

Annette – I love that idea! Thanks for sharing.

Marelisa – Thanks for sharing the quote!

Davina – I love Eckhart Tolle’s writing. I think I could create a life balance quote post w/ only his wise words.

BC – I here you. I’m read them throughout this gloomy day.

Lance – Good catch! I love that quote too.

One of my favorites sort of applies here: “Take the time it takes so it takes less time” and this one: “Prior and proper preparation prevents p-poor performance, particularly when polite and passive persistence is practiced in the proper position.”

Not sure of the original authors, but Pat Parelli (Parelli Natural Horse-Man-Ship) says these all the time. (They may well be his original quotes–the man and his wife Linda don’t just teach “horse training”, they teach self-development with a horsey flavor.)
