The little voice inside my head wants to subtitle this post “Monday’s Ramblings”.

“By the responses, I am inspired further to share my experiences and write what I know. Through my writing, I learn more about who I am and how I think”  ~ SARK

In last week’s Wordless Wednesday, I mentioned that SARK launched her newest book Juicy Pens, Thirsty Paper. For me, the book is magical and I strongly recommend it to all writers looking for a fresh perspective on writing from the heart, sharing stories, and generating new ideas for your writing practice.

SARK’s new book made me ponder the question…..

Why Read My Words?

And she inspired me to dare to answer the question as boldly as possible…..

There are a gazillions blogs and websites…why read MY words?

BECAUSE… I am interesting, powerful, and unusual. I have so much to offer the world and this blog provides insight to human experiences that trigger emotions, thoughts, and discussions. I have stories to share with you and want to listen as you share and contribute to the CreateaBalance.com community. My words are raw and authentic. My words will not always be perfect, but they come from the heart as I explore the practice of life balance.

I encourage you to read my words and join the conversation so we can learn from each other, so you can gain a sense of comfort that in parallel universes we all struggle with being everything to everyone while also finding time and strength to embrace our own sense of self, our needs, and our passions.

“Writing and claiming your stories is a good way to know that we are not the only ones having human experiences….Through stories, you find out truly that you are not the only one who feels lost, broken, desperate, joy*full, wildly hope*full, yearning or seeking, and best of all, you can reassure other who feel that way too”   ~ SARK

If you have a blog, why should people read your thought-provoking words? If you don’t have a blog, how do you share your illuminating stories? We all have illuminating stories.

  • Hi there Stacey

I haven’t been visiting your blog for very long, but I get the feeling from the flow of your words that they are indeed powerful and authentic. Good on you for daring to answer the question boldly!

To answer the question myself – I don’t think of myself as a writer, really. I would probably tell my stories more by talking – though I have been starting to see myself as a writer since doing my blog.

    Cheers – Robin

  • I love this post.

Women often have a hard time doing what you just did: promoting themselves.

    I am proud of you.

  • @Robin – It’s really fun to be bold…and it also feels like standing on the edge of a cliff. That edge is where I feel ALIVE! From someone who reads your writing, I most definitely consider you to be a thought provoking writer.

@Vered – Thanks Vered. Promoting myself is such a raw and vulnerable experience. Yet at the same time, it is so liberating and makes me feel ALIVE. The excitement of living past my fears is exhilarating.

  • This is a very empowering post for me, Stacey. What makes it so is that it makes me think about my writing, and what it means. And to come up with a statement that speaks as to why you (you, in the general sense) should read what I write.
Why should people read what I write? I write from the heart. I am uplifting. I think we all have way more potential than we use. I elicit your thinking process.

OK, that was tough to do. I find it hard describing “why” I write. I feel like it’s as though I’m trying to promote myself. But, really, deep down, it’s a process to understand myself and my writing better.

I also think this is a brave post. Brave in that you are putting yourself out there – now what if you don’t live up to those statements. For the record, I think you will. I love your response, it feels deeply personal. And that’s powerful.

  • @Lance – Thank you for sharing and for providing feedback. Your words remind me of one of my favorite quotes…

“Our greatest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light and not our darkness that most frightens us.” ~ Marianne Williamson

Reading all of the comments from this post also makes me feel so ALIVE. All of the comments literally took my breath away. To me that means I am living bolding, authentically, and to the best of my ability.

I read what you write because your topics are my passions, your stories are engaging, the layout of your words is easy on my eyes, you inspire new thoughts and ideas for my own writing practice. I admire your writing style.
