Encouraging post. I think this is a valuable lesson that all women could stand to learn from ~ they simply must take time for themselves to refresh and refuel otherwise they will get burned out and have nothing left to give. Especially moms ~ taking time for themselves helps them to remember who they are outside of that "mommy person." And it provides the opportunity to create and be a whole person.

@Evelyn – Watching your video is on my list of things to do tonight. I am happy I was able to provide you with a mental break. Any time my friend…just ask!
@MizFits - I’m so excited to be receiving all of these new song leads. Any song about packing up and leaving home can make we cry over my boys (and they are only 2 & 4 years old).
@Lance – Thanks Lance. I’m loving Christine Kane’s music (basically became an instant fan). In fact I’m highlighting one of her songs from YouTube on my blog today.

For what it's worth, Stacey -- Christine Kane has a website and blog -- http://christinekane.com/blog and another site/blog where she is creating music and letting anyone provide suggestions, etc. -- which I think is a pretty cool idea for an artist -- and that's at -- http://bemyrecordlabel.com/ . If you don't like the music, skip it, but if you do -- these are both some really awesome links.

Dance away!!

The song that keeps playing over and over again in my head these days is the one in my Mind Movie. I had to keep playing it aloud while working on my video. Your song in this post helped me with a temporary mental break...LOL!!

I can most identify with your need to be on your own sometimes. I treasure my quiet time a lot. With a noisy family around, I have to find the space when everyone is asleep.

@Robin – I think people will often label someone as selfish he/she is living for herself, but I think it’s essential. It reminds me of the airplane metaphor…if you don’t put your oxygen mask on first, you will never be able to take care of others.
@Lance – Thanks for all of the great music leads. I’m going to conduct an amazing YouTube search this evening to listen (and maybe even dance) to the songs.
@Stacey – I love music too and I’m not familiar with the songs you mentioned. I will be searching for them on YouTube tonight along with Lance’s suggestions. I belt out “It’s My Turn” when I’m driving but may have to move it to my living room for some old fashion karaoke.
@Hunter Nuttalls – I’ll always be the first person to sign up for some alone time. I love it and crave it. I also have some people in my life that don’t understand my need to be alone.

I'm another one who needs time for themselves. I'd go crazy if I never had time to reflect and do what I wanted. Some people don't understand that, but hey, it's up to everyone to decide what they need, right?
