Daphne – Thanks. I want to do more live blogging…it made me feel so alive!

Miami Setai – I hope the motivation took you into the New Year full of life!

Davina – Thank you for reading about my partly sluggish day.

Leona – I love being outside and I’m always amazed how the cold winter weather keeps me in doors unless I force myself outside for fresh air.

Great experiment. Definitely getting fresh air into the lungs and sun on to the skin is a boost. That is one of my main happiness boosts. The others are crazy, upbeat music and, don't laugh, trying to do the housework to the rhythm - yep that sad sign of another multi-tasker. Though ABBA and vacuuming is a sublime experience. Last but not least is calling a girlfriend, surfing great blogs (yes, call me an addict but I am in awe of how wonderful some blogs are) and deep stretching and breathing or an some interval training to get the heart rate into a mad zone. But simply the best is my son or daughter ringing up and saying "let's get together - what are you up to Mum?"

This post might have saved my life! And even if I'm exaggerating, it's only a bit ;)
I have so much work to do that has to be completed before Christmas and it just overwhelms me. Thick gray clouds outside blocking the sun don't help either, nor does the freezing rain ...
Thanks for giving my personal motivation a swift kick where it hurts, hopefully it will help not only today but in the long run too!

Stacey,

I love the idea of doing the exercise live and walking us through it. Thanks for sharing your personal experience so openly. In a way I'm glad it took you 86 minutes, because it shows everyone else the importance of being flexible and that things still work out even when they don't go exactly to plan. Great post!

B. Wilde - Thanks for the great feedback. It’s amazing how many times I laughed while doing this experiment. I agree we all can use more laughter in our lives.

Reading posts like this give me an energy boost and a good laugh - I loved this, "This 30 minute experiment took me 86 minutes to complete." So true! I like the suggestions and your response to them. Planning future fun is so badly needed. The only thing I would add that I try to do is laugh as much as I can in a day. Isn't funny how that can be so hard and far reaching some days? If I can get on the treadmill at 10:00 pm and watch Everybody Loves Raymond for 30 min. my day will have been complete.
