Arriving at the Moment of Your Dream
by Stacey Hoffer Weckstein

Can you capture that moment
when you knew you had arrived at one of your dreams?

Here are a few of my arriving moments…
My first step down the aisle on my wedding day,
When I looked into my children’s eyes for the first time,
The moment my plane arrived at Ben Gurion airport,
The first time someone commented on my blog,
The very last bell in high school.

These are the moments to savor.

Please share your extraordinary moments.

  • Wonderful post – always great to remind us of where we’ve been!

My dreams come true to date:

The day my husband and I walked into our home during the open house. We just knew.
    The day I got married.
Just last week when I realized what I truly want my professional goals to be.
The day I realized where my fear comes from.
The day I ran my first marathon, and the day I ran the Boston marathon, both in qualifying times.

  • @Stacey – Thank you for sharing such personal extraordinary moments. Looking forward to hearing more about your upcoming dreams too!

  • I love the picture Stacey!

    Those moments for me:

    – My wedding day

    – The births of all three of my children

    – The first time I completed a triathlon

    – The first time I received a comment on my blog (like you Stacey, this was a very moving experience for me – someone was actually reading what I wrote, and took the time to comment)

    – The day I graduated from college

    – The time we lost our daughter at a state park, and then found her 15 minutes later. The finding her part.

When I think about this, I am reminded of really how many extraordinary moments I’ve had in my life! And that makes me feel good.

Lances last blog post..What Are We Missing?

  • @Lance – Thank you for sharing your extraordinary moments and for sharing how that makes you feel. I think there is something to be said about gratitude journals. Maybe I should make my millions by creating an Extraordinary Moments journal. Does intellectual property pertain to blog comments? LOL

  • I love the idea behind this post. My arriving moments are:

    1. The birth of my two girls.

    2. The day when I realised what abundance means to me. It happened during a meditation.

    3. The day (more than 10 years ago) when I got up on my waterski after trying for so long.

    4. The day when I first experienced immense bliss during meditation.

    5. The day when I graduated from taking the CFA program. I managed to pass the exams for a consecutive three years, when the failure rate is 50% at each level.

  • @Evelyn Lim – As always, I appreciate your feedback and you jump started my interest to begin meditating again. I have tried starting my meditation practice so many times…but I have never been able to make a practice out of it. You are an inspiration.

@phylameana – Sending you a very sincere thank you.

  • “The moment my plane arrived at Ben Gurion airport”. This made me smile and feel proud. 🙂 Although I’ve been living in the U.S. for 10 years now.

I think my most important arriving moment up until now was right after giving birth to each of my two kids, when I held them close to me and nursed them for the first time. Both of them nursed right away, with hunger and abandon, their tiny bodies pressed against mine.

  • @Vered – I’ll never forget the moment I first landed at Ben Gurion airport. Surprisingly, everyone on the plane clapped and cheered, festive music danced out of the speakers, and in my heart I knew I was home. I have visited 3 times with one visit lasting 12 months. Thank you for sharing your extraordinary moments.
